ArgiNLS (Arginine-rich Nuclear Localization Signal) is a genetic tagging strategy developed by Dr. Eric Szelenyi and Dr. Sam Golden that flexibly and safely achieves fluorescent-protein nuclear restriction across the brain, facilitating machine-learning-based segmentation of single cells at scale.
Quantifying labeled cells in fluorescent microscopy is a fundamental challenge in modern biology. Traditional nuclear localization signals have limited effectiveness, while alternative approaches can compromise cellular health. ArgiNLS improves discrimination of individually labeled cells while maintaining cellular compatibility.
Availability
Constructs are available through Addgene for academic and non-profit institutions under standard material transfer agreements. Other use requests should be directed to Dr. Szelenyi.
