Kevin Bai, rising undergraduate senior in the lab, has been awarded a prestigious WRF Levinson Emerging Scholar Award! This follows his recent success also being awarded a 3Rs Pilot Grant! Congrats Kevin!

Excited to share work by Jordan Elum from the Zweifel Lab, in collaboration with Eric Szelenyi, that has recently been published in Cell Reports: Distinct dynamics and intrinsic properties in ventral tegmental area populations mediate reward association and motivation. We have received the Notice of Award for a collaborative R44 SBIR Phase 2 with Neurolux and the Heshmati Lab. This NIMH award will support the development of BMADs and associated software/hardware through the end of 2026!

Carlee Toddes presented at IASP 2024 World Congress on Pain in Amsterdam. Carlee received a travel award to support her trip.

Perfect weather, smooth sailing, and a resounding defeat to team Golden Girls (Golden Lab) by team Electronic Boat Company 2 (Heshmati lab) during the Trivia Scavenger Hunt!

Erica received her associate degree from Elgin Community College before transferring to Seattle Pacific University where she obtained her BS in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience. At SPU, she worked under Dr. Baker with rodent models to investigate the neural circuitry of decision-making, behavior, and pain sensitivity. She is also interested in research on the effects of depression and addiction on behavior.

We had the unique of experience of hosting the @KING5Seattle news team (led by Jessica Castro) in lab yesterday, where @JovanaNavarr and @toddesca demonstrated some SCIENCE! A really fun and different day for all!

Kelsey is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington pursuing a BS in Neuroscience. She is a part of the Golden lab through the UW ENDURE program. During her time at the Golden lab she hopes to cultivate her love for neuroscience and research.
